This is how
the story goes
so familiar –
a genealogy
for the ages
small Black baby
fed to the gators
an image circulated
amongst those
who are never
too embarrassed
to embrace
banality.
We have read
this story
so many times –
aren’t you
sick of it yet?
Doesn’t this
familiar show
get on your nerves
yet?
I don’t suppose
so since
it keeps getting told
over and over
again.
